Keelia English-Biography

Keelia-English-2Ambitious, Charismatic and talented are just a few words to describe this rare gem, Miss Keelia English.

Keelia English was born on March 20th 1997 under the astrological sign of Pisces. She was raised in the peaceful village of Cane Garden Estate. Keelia is the last of her mother’s four children. Her favourite pastimes include: listening to music, hiking, playing with her Chihuahua and Shih Tzu mixed dog Papi.

Keelia started her Secondary level education in 2009 and graduated in 2014 from Nevis International, formerly known as The Lyn Jeffers Secondary School. Upon obtaining 11 CXC subjects, Keelia also gained the Premiers’ Award of Top Girl and Valedictorian of her class.
Keelia has always been very ambitious, setting goals which are sometimes considered to be beyond her. However Keelia has managed to achieve almost all so far.

Keelia has had a passion for tourism since she was in grade 4 and by Form 4 she sought and obtained her first tourism related position as a waitress at Montpelier hotel. In addition she managed to get herself a place in the Tourism Youth Council and also participated in the 2012 Nevis Tourism Youth Ministers’ debate. In fifth form she participated in the summer job attachment program and was placed at the Ministry of Tourism.

Keelia is now enrolled at the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College where she is pursuing studies in Hospitality with hopes of one day owning a chain of restaurants and hotels in every Caribbean island.

From a very early age, Keelia developed a keen interest in competition and has entered and won many essay and slogan competitions. Keelia is inspired daily by the resilience, strength and patience of her mother Jacqueline Brookes. Mummy often reminds her “no matter what obstacles the world may throw in your way you can overcome them”.

Keelia believes that participating in the National Carnival Swim Suit Pageant is one way of boosting her confidence and improving the way she presents herself and bolster her public speaking skills, thereby creating opportunities to meet people, learn about different cultures and in general improve her outlook on life.
