Five arrested and charged for Island Purified Water break-in

HMP-SKBBasseterre, St. Kitts, 16th May, 2016 (MyVueNews.com) - Five persons were arrested and charged on Saturday, 13th May, 2017, for Building Breaking, Larceny and Receiving associated with an incident at the Basseterre branch of Island Purified Water.

 

Information released by the Police identified the arrested and charged as Crispin Crossley of Malone Avenue, Dounel Gaskin of New Road Housing Project, Leshawn Dore of Upper Cayon, Avionics Huggins of Lower Thibou Avenue and Marie Francis of Central Market Street.

 

According to the Police, during the early morning hours of 9th May, the accused entered the building and stole several items including a Microwave, a 32'' Samsung Television, a vault, and two Pixi Alcatel One touch phones. Also stolen was $225.00 in cash.

 

Assistant Commissioner of Police Andre Mitchell, who heads the Crime Directorate, said, “I commend the members of the public for providing useful information. Also, I commend Lead Investigator Detriot Henry and his team.  He used his experience, sorted the evidence gathered and followed all leads.  Today, we were able to bring charges to five persons." 


Additionally, ACP Mitchell commented, "The Police will continue to pursue relentlessly those persons, not only who are bent on creating injury and hurt, but also those who make a living out of depriving others of property.”


ACP Mitchell again emphasized that the Police needs the continued partnership with the public.

 

He said, ”We urge the general public to continue to pass on information relating to suspicious conduct and activities by using 911, anonymous sources such as Crime Reporter and Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477, or by calling your local Police Station.”
