Man shot, others in custody as Police respond to report of intruders

Bars-99Basseterre, St. Kitts, 10th October, 2017 (MyVueNews.com) - Police shot an intruder in a house in Fig Tree, Nevis, after responding to a report that several individuals had broken into a house.

 

According to the Police, on arrival the intruders were found in the house. In the 9th October incident, 24-year-old Sheldon Hawker of Burden Pasture was shot by Police. It is understood he is in stable condition at the Alexandra Hospital.

 

Also found in the house were 18 and 19-year-old males and a 14-year-old female.

 

Police found a large quantity of marijuana stored in the house. The individuals remain in Police custody, and the evidence has been seized.

 

Deputy Police Commissioner is reported as saying, “Parents need to encourage their children to avoid being involved in crime and associating with criminals. These behaviours will only lead to the deterioration of the normal state of society.”
