Tourism officials delight UK media on roadshow



Road-1Basseterre, St. Kitts, 17th October, 2017 ( - St. Kitts and Nevis’ tourism officials met with UK media representatives during the federations 5th edition of Destination St. Kitts and Nevis.


The event was held at The Apartment of the exclusive Hoxton Hotel, London.


Representing the federation were officials from the tourism authorities of both islands. These included Lindsay F.P. Grant, Minister of Tourism; Tim Thuell, Chairman, NTA Board; and CEO’s Racquel Brown and Greg Phillips respectively of the St. Kitts and Nevis Tourism Authorities.


According to the St. Kitts Tourism Authority, a variety of media from high-profile trade publications, including Selling Travel and TTG to national travel writers and multi-media outlets such as Suitcase Magazine.


New media were also well represented with several lifestyle and food bloggers including Luxury Columnist, EatCookExplore and PipandtheCity; with niche media such as Yacht Investor, Planet Golf Review and The Voice also attending.


Attending the event was Minister of Tourism Lindsay Grant, who was available for interviews with the media representatives who attended.


Tourism authorities at the roadshow highlighted the ‘uniqueness’ and ‘authenticity’ of the two islands, and spoke of the importance of the media event at the roadshow.


Grant said, “The media event is an important element to the Destination St. Kitts and Nevis roadshow offering our partners a platform to build relationships with the UK media. I hope that all participating partners had successful meetings and will, in time, leverage any opportunities from those meetings.”


Partners attending Destination St. Kitts & Nevis included, from St. Kitts, St. James Travel & Tours, St. Kitts Marriott, Park Hyatt and Yu Lounge; and from Nevis, Nisbett Plantation Beach, Oualie Beach, Mount Nevis, Four Seasons Resort, The Hermitage and Montpelier Plantation & Beach.
