Amory-V-1000Basseterre, St. Kitts, 19th October, 2017 (MyVueNews.com) - The Nevis Island Administration is holding a town hall meeting in Charlestown on Thursday, 19th October, to discuss the NIA’s program and to inform the public on the NIA’s performance over the last year.

Speaking with MyVueNews.com, Premier Vance Amory of the Nevis Island Administration said it is all part of a program to inform the residents of Nevis on matters that impact their lives.

Like the radio program, Government At Work, that airs on Thursday evenings, the town hall can be considered as an extension, Premier Amory said.

He explained, “It’s just  -  [we are] taking it now into the community to get people’s feedback, and to get them to ask questions, and to give clarification for any matters, which they might not understand.”

The town hall meeting is open to everyone, the Premier said.

“We expect all the people who can attend. It is really an open town hall meeting,” the Premier stated.

He indicated that previous town hall meetings were done in St. Thomas’, in Cotton Ground and St. James. The attention is now turned to the town hall meeting at the Red Cross Building in Charlestown, in St. Paul’s District.

Premier Amory encouraged residents to come to the meeting, especially those who need answers to their concerns.

“We expect people from the St. Paul’s District, but all the people of Nevis who may have concerns and who want to raise them and get answers to any concerns they may have, in respect to what the Government is doing, those persons are the target group that we have,” Premier Amory explained.
