SKN-and-BABasseterre, St. Kitts, 20th October, 2017 (MyVueNews.com) - Speaking to tour operators and other travel specialist at the end of the 5th Destination St. Kitts and Nevis - UK Roadshow, Minister of Tourism Lindsay Grant thanked tour operators for their support and recognised the “special and long partnership with British Airways”.

Minister Grant was speaking at a dinner engagement after tour operations, earlier in the day, had one-on-one meetings with St. Kitts and Nevis tourism partners, at the historic Hampton Court Palace.

There St. Kitts and Nevis hoteliers and travel services discussed matters aimed at bringing additional business to the country.

Among the tour operators present were Bailey Robinson, Osborne & Ebel, Red Savannah, British Airways Holidays, Expedia, The Turquoise Holiday Company and Funway Holidays.

According to information provided by the St. Kitts Tourism Authority, Grant commented on the recently concluded meetings of the UK Roadshow, placing them in the context of recent hurricanes that impacted the northeast Caribbean.

He said, “As St. Kitts strives to compete in the global marketplace, this week’s initiative is crucial in building partnerships with the UK travel industry, even more so in the aftermath of Hurricanes Irma and Maria. We emphasize that St. Kitts and Nevis is very much open for business, and we ask your help in spreading that message. The Caribbean is in our prayers, as we feel for those that were not fortunate enough to escape damage.“

During dinner, CEOs Racquel Brown and Greg Phillip, together with Tim Thuell, chairman of the Nevis Tourist Board, highlighted the destination's appeal to UK consumers seeking authentic experiences complemented by a desire for luxury, romance, great food and adventure, the Tourism Authority reported.

Guests were also treated to a preview of both St. Kitts and Nevis’ destination videos showcasing the history, culture, food, friendly people and scenic natural beauty of the islands.

The presentation included short addresses by CEOs Greg Phillip and Racquel Brown, as well as from NTA chairman, Thuell.

The fifth Destination St. Kitts and Nevis Roadshow was part of a joint marketing initiative in partnership with British Airways and destination product representatives from both islands.
