Nevis man found dead, two escape gunfire



Invest-888383838383838Basseterre, St. Kitts, 18th November, 2017 ( - A 56-year-old man identified as Lincoln Liburd of Craddock Road, Nevis, was found dead Saturday, 18th November.


Information from the Police indicate that Liburd was shot multiple times. The body was located in Zetlands Village, after residents reported that shots had been fired. The incident is said to have occurred at about 2:30 am.


District Medical Officer Shandy Jacobs pronounced Liburd dead on the scene.


Meanwhile, Police are also investigating two shooting incidents, one on Nevis and the other on St. Kitts.


According to the Police, workmen on a Cotton Ground job site were approached by masked gunmen who fired several rounds of ammunition after exiting their vehicle. The workmen fled the scene, and no one was reported hurt.


The second shooting incident occurred in Dieppe Bay at about 8:30 am., when Kassim Buchanan, of Farm Site, Sandy Point, escaped injury after being fired upon by an unknown assailant.


Police reported that Buchanan was walking on the road toward the Dieppe Bay Police Station, the he was attacked by an assailant dressed in all black, who came out of an abandoned building.


Buchanan ran and was chased by the assailant who fired several shots. Buchanan was not injured.


in both shooting incidents, Police recovered several spent shells that will be forensically examined.
