BFT-1Basseterre, St. Kitts, 5th December, 2017 (MyVueNews.com) - The new Basseterre Ferry Terminal will be officially opened on Wednesday, 6th December, said an official of the St. Christopher Air and Sea Ports Authority (SCASPA).

SCASPA’s CEO Don James said the 75-seat Ferry Terminal will enhance the traveling experience of passengers using the downtown terminal.

The new air conditioned structure replaces an open air facility that attracted persons who were not travelling to Nevis. The new terminal also addressed security concerns of travellers who used the old facility.

Expected to attend the opening ceremony are Minister of Transport and Public Infrastructure, Ian Patches Liburd, other members of the Federal Cabinet, senior government officials, Private Sector representatives, SCASPA officials, seafarers and members of civil society.

The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 3 pm.
