SKNFA League Produces 20 Goals in 4 Games

Football_Nov_08Basseterre, St. Kitts – It was a weekend of goals galore in the 2010 Digicel/SKNFA football league as total of twenty goals were scored in just four games between Saturday, 6 November and Sunday, 7 November.

It all stated on Saturday in the premier division when the defending champions, Newtown United defeated St. Thomas/Trinity Strikers, 4-2 in game one of the two matches played.

For Newtown, Orlando "Ack" Mitcham Scored a Hat-trick with goals coming in the 22nd, 33rd & 53rd minutes, while Zevon Archibald in the 57th minute, added the fourth goal for the defending champions.

The goal scores Trinity Strikers were, Azeem James in the 17th minute and Philmore Powell in the 46th minute.

Officials for that game were Franklyn Dorsett, Ike Inniss, Fidel Fahie and Steadroy Techeira.

Game two only saw three goals making it to the back of the net. The 2009 champions, S.L Horsford St. Pauls got 2 of those goals vs UDC Garden Hotspurs with the other.  At half time the score was 2 – 0 in favour of St. Pauls, but a consolation goal by Sherwin Allen 60th minute ended the game 2-1.

Marvin Buchanan of St. Pauls received a red card in the 90th minute.

Officials for that game were James Matthew, Graeme Browne, Alexis Joseph and Steadroy Techeira.

On Sunday, 7 November, in game one which was the only premier division game played, it was St. Peters vs Coury's Gatorade Conaree. After 90 minutes, St. Peters had 4 goals while Conaree only managed to convert 2.

In the final game, an A division match up, Conaree Fireball Int'l were too hot to handle for the SKN Under - 15 as they went under, 4-  2.
