Local Football Coaches attending FIFA Clinic

FIFA_ClinicBasseterre, St. Kitts – As part of its continued efforts to develop football in St. Kitts and Nevis, the Football Association, (SKNFA), in collaboration with FIFA, is presently conducting a one week coaching clinic.

FIFA instructor Mr. Alvin Corneal is conducting the course and according to him, the objective is to enhance the training techniques for local coaches.

Corneal, explained that the course is a serious one, as coaches need to have a better understanding of the game.

“A coach needs to understand how to deal with substitutions, preparing a team and also team analysis among other things.”

Meanwhile Technical Director for the SKNFA, Lenny Lake says, the course is an enhancement course and it seeks to update the coaches on the trends and the changes in the football world.

“There will be more courses such as these in the future and I urge all coaches to participate when we host them,” Lake added.

During the rest of the week the course will consist of lectures and practical sessions each day, where participants will be engaged in topics that are vital to improving the game at all levels.

The training which got underway on 7th November, at Football House, Basseterre, is scheduled to end on Friday 12th November with a closing ceremony.
