Athletes to be Hosted by High Commissioner in London

SKN Olyp teamBasseterre, St. Kitts, (Saturday 28th July, 2012) – One day after the spectacular opening of the 2012 London Olympics, members of the St. Kitts and Nevis Olympic Team will be treated to a special reception on Saturday night July 28th 2012. The athletes and management have been invited to an Olympic Welcome Reception hosted by The High Commission for St. Kitts and Nevis in London on Saturday.

The reception will also be used for the official release of a special song produced and performed by a Kittitian calypsonian to celebrate the local Olympians.

The popularly known ‘Queen Kibi’ has released a hot new single out of London, UK to celebrate the performing excellence of St. Kitts and Nevis nationals.

With her new song “Wave Your Flag” written in tribute to the St. Kitts and Nevis Olympic Team’s participation in Olympics 2012, Queen Kibi uses the rhythms of groovy soca to celebrate who we are as a people.

Carrying 17 years of Calypso experience, with five crowns from various local competitions, Queen Kibi will be performing this tribute for the athletes.

This is a versatile, energetic and passionate piece showcasing an appreciation for our people, it is a fresh new sound that compels you to dance and wave as proud Kittitians and Nevisians, said an official at the St. Kitts and Nevis High Commission in the British capital.
