Shanika Joshua-Biography

Shanika-Joshua-2I, Miss Shanika Joshua was born on May 28th, 1995, at the Alexandra Hospital in Charlestown, Nevis. I was raised by my Kittitian mother, Miss Beverly Joshua-Louis, spending my younger years in Gingerland on the island of Nevis.

This is where I received my primary school education at the Gingerland Primary School then relocated to St. Kitts, where I completed my secondary school education at the Basseterre High School, and subsequently furthered my studies at the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College.

My greatest aspiration is to be a social worker because I am very passionate about having awareness and understanding of the various sensitive situations that the children in our families face, and finding means and ways to prevent or release the stress of these situations.

I am also very passionate about my own personal and professional development. I pride myself on the following philosophy: “the future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams". In this regard, I am focused on securing opportunities that are geared towards improving my growth. While all praises are due to the Almighty God, I am very thankful to my mother for being a great role model and inspiration in my life.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending quality time with my family and few close friends. I also enjoy reading, researching and socializing.

In July of this year, I entered the Miss Culture Swimwear Pageant in Nevis and successfully captured the crown. I am the reigning Miss Culture Swimwear 2015-2016, and I am very excited to compete in the upcoming competition in St. Kitts.
